ILLIG Dry Fiber Systems

Sustainable and efficient packaging solutions made from dry natural fibers.

Innovative solutions for
fiber-based packaging

With its innovative Dry Fiber Systems, ILLIG presents a pioneering solution for the production of sustainable packaging made from dry natural fibers. These modular and scalable production systems convert dry fiber webs (Airlaid) into rigid packaging such as yogurt cups, fruit trays, lids, containers, or blisters for both food and non-food applications. Thanks to a patent-pending forming process, significantly higher draw ratios can be achieved—enabling deeper and more complex geometries than conventional fiber forming methods.
As an established technology partner with many years of industry experience, we offer packaging development, process expertise, and modular, efficient production systems – all from a single source.

Produce various shapes ...

Sustainable Trays, Cups, Lids and Blister packaging for Food, Non-Food and FMCG applications - with a drawing depth of up to 120 mm. ILLIG Dry Fiber Systems allow all formats that can be produced with punch/die process (incl. undercut).

An innovative tooling concept supports the cost-effective production of sustainable packaging solutions. Challenge us with your individual packaging format!

... with a scalable machine concept

The ILLIG Dry Fiber systems have been designed from the outset for high-volume production. An output of up to 80 Million parts per year is possible. The modular system design enables scalable output tailored to specific manufacturing needs.

Project status update

We are currently testing and fully developing the Dry Fiber process in close collaboration with selected customers – including OEMs and brand owners from the food industry. Materials, forming and punching processes, and integrated barrier solutions are being optimized to meet demanding packaging requirements. A market-ready solution of the DFM 100 system is targeted for early 2026.

We will keep you updated on further developments. You’re warmly invited to visit us at FACHPACK in Nuremberg from September 23 to 25, 2025, located in Hall 1, booth 1‑258. We would be delighted to engage in a personal discussion with you to explore your individual packaging requirements further.
